Neo-Restoration.com Terms and Conditions

General Guidelines

Neo-Restoration.com provides a forum for community discourse about the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement.
  • You may submit private (editable only by the contributor) material through the Reviews or Articles sections or public (editable by the community) material through the RM Wiki section.  Each of these two facets of Neo-Restoration.com has its own particular permissions (see below).
  • Back up any submission you do not want to risk losing.
  • Comments on submissions should stay on topic.  No chatting please.  If you wish to talk about a new subject, create a new submission.
  • Respect intellectual property.
    • No plagiarized content is allowed.
    • No copyrighted material may be inserted into posts except as specified by the terms defined under Permissions below.
    • Always acknowledge the source.
  • No Advertising or promotional activity may be placed in submissions
    • It will be the sole discretion of Neo-Restoration.com administrators as to what constitutes an advertisement or promotion.

Membership

We welcome members who share our goals and philosophy, and agree to act in accord with the rules and guidelines of the forum.
  • Tell administrators about problematic posts, terms and conditions violations, or anything else you think needs administrator attention by clicking on the User Feedback link in the User Menu (only visible when logged in). Please, do not react to violations: just report them.
    • Comments about the Terms and Conditions can be submitted under the Terms and Conditions FAQ.
  • Membership is a privilege.  Use of these forums and your speech in these forums is not a right. It is a privilege granted you by the NR administrators under the terms of this agreement and can be revoked at any time without warning.
    • More information about the administrators is available in this Administrator FAQ.
  • Submissions posted at this site are the sole opinion and responsibility of the poster.
  • You agree not to hold Neo-Restoration.com or its members liable for anything stated within the forum.
  • When content is submitted to Neo-Restoration.com, you are granting an irrevocable license to the site to use it in perpetuity.

Submissions

The Neo-Restoration.com forum is a serious, academic and collaborative environment that maintains Christian standards of interaction.
  • Christian standards include keeping your language clean and decent.
    • Profane, obnoxious, or malicious content will be deleted with prejudice.  All submissions are subject to the judgement of NR administrators.
    • This forum is not a venue for personal or private dispute.  Keep your personal business as just that - personal.
  • Submissions should have at least a moderately scholarly style.  Avoid sermonizing, unfounded statments, careless spelling, poor grammar/syntax, and otherwise unscholarly writing in general.
  • Scholarly, reasoned criticism is more than welcome.
  • Citing other sources is encouraged.  Although no particular method of citation is required, end notes using a bracketed number system are encouraged.
  • Whatever method you choose, please be consistent throughout your entire article.
  • Submissions are intended to generate dialogue in the comments section.  While comments will necessarily have a more informal style, the same essential m.o. is appropriate for them as well.
  • Chatspeak and SMS style are not acceptable, nor is writing in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.
  • If you have several submissions to make, consider spacing them out over time in order to give others a chance to engage and maintain a flow of fresh material.

Permissions

  • Represent yourself honestly.
    • You may register with one user name only.
    • Do not pretend to be someone you are not: this includes gender, nationality and native language.
  • Do not post personal data such as email addresses, phone numbers, etc. Where appropriate, you can put some of this in your personal profile.
  • Excerpts of email or private messages are not allowed.
  • Anyone posting another member’s personal details or web site details without permission will be banned.
